Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva has welcomed reports linking Kylian Mbappe with a move to the Parc des Princes.
PSG have shocked the footballing world this summer after acquiring the services of Neymar from Barcelona for a world record fee of around £198million and the Brazilian superstar’s arrival most certainly turns the French side into one of the contenders for the Champions League title.
Despite breaking the bank to sign Neymar though, PSG are not yet satisfied and have continually been linked with a host of names such as Alexis Sanchez and even Ousmane Dembele.
However, the rumor that has caught the attention of many is PSG’s apparent pursuit for Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.
Mbappe has risen to superstardom by guiding Monaco to the Ligue 1 title as well as to the semi finals of the Champions League last season and as a result; the 18-year-old has strongly been linked with moves to some of the very best teams in Europe.
Real Madrid are keen on signing Mbappe this summer while even Barcelona are said to have entered the race after losing Neymar.
Sensationally, PSG also want to bring the French wonderkid to their club and reports have been floating around claiming that the French moneybags will pay their rivals Monaco around £160million in order to sign the teenager.
It remains to be seen as to whether Monaco will want to sell their prized asset to PSG or indeed the French side are able to complete the transfer without breaching Financial Fair Play rules but star defender Thiago Silva has urged his side to persist in their pursuit for the French international.
PSG skipper Silva told Canal+, “He always wants to score, he has a great quality of dribble, and I think PSG is a team that loves that kind of player. He could become a very important and very significant player for the squad. I see on TV that he has his head on his shoulders.”
