AC Milan manager Filippo Inzaghi wants to keep hold of Chelsea loanee Marco van Ginkel at the San Siro
Van Ginkel joined Milan on a season long loan deal from Chelsea during the summer but it seemed like the young midfielder’s stay at the San Siro would come to a premature end after hardly featuring at all during the first half of the campaign.
Since the turn of the year though, van Ginkel managed to force his way into the AC Milan first team and enjoyed a strong end to the season by making an ever-present contribution for the final 11 Serie A matches for the Italian giants.
Van Ginkel has most certainly made a telling difference in Milan’s performances and now manager Filippo Inzaghi has gone on to express his desire to keep hold of the Dutchman beyond the end of the current campaign.
Inzaghi stated that he has been very impressed with van Ginkel’s performance during the latter half of the season and expressed hope of keeping hold of the 22-year old for the upcoming 2015/16 season as well.
Speaking to AC Milan’s official website, Inzaghi said, “Unfortunately he is not our player. But he has grown a lot. He has played seven or eight games in a row and we are starting to see a great player.
“He does really well in training. Chelsea have great midfielders and he is need of playing. My will would be if possible to keep him, because he can give us a big hand.”
