Antoine Griezmann is believed to be keen on making a move to Manchester United in the January transfer window.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Griezmann for a couple of years now and the French forward was believed to be very close to finalizing the switch to Old Trafford this summer.
However, United could not land Griezmann during the recent transfer window as well due to the fact that Atletico Madrid had to deal with a transfer ban and as a result, the Spanish side could not have signed any replacement if indeed they had sold the 26-year-old to United.
With Atletico’s ban set to be lifted in January, it is now believed that Griezmann will consider a move to Manchester and the Spanish side will also be open to selling their prized asset as they can sign adequate replacements, with Chelsea’s Diego Costa strongly being linked.
Griezmann has been a huge hit for Los Rojiblancos since signing for the Madrid outfit from Real Sociedad in 2014, scoring 60 league goals in 112 appearances and during the time, the French superstar has led his club to the Champions League final as well.
Should Atletico lose Griezmann, it would be a major blow for them as the attacker is among those very few elite players in the world who has the ability to single handedly win the games for their respective teams.
Atletico have consistently been linked with a move for want-away Chelsea forward Costa though and they are believed to be almost certain to sign the Brazilian born forward after he openly expressed his desire to move back to Madrid.
It is believed that Atletico will sign the powerful forward in the January transfer window when they will be allowed to register new players and the Spanish international could surely be a good replacement for an influential figure like Griezmann.
