Chelsea are close to completing the signing of Swansea forward Fernando Llorente for about £15 million, according to the Daily Mail.
Chelsea have been looking to sign a new forward as back up to summer signing Alvaro Morata and his understudy Michy Batshuayi and the Premier League champions finally seem to be close to completing the deal to recruit Fernando Llorente from Swansea City.
Antonio Conte knows the big Spaniard well from his time at Juventus, having worked with the forward for a season at Turin and he has been seen as a useful addition to his Chelsea side by the Italian.
Llorente was instrumental in keeping the Swans in the Premier League last season, scoring 15 goals, including some key strikes against the likes of Stoke City, Everton and Sunderland towards the tail end of the campaign. The target man was among the best performers for the Welsh side along with Gyilfi Sigurdsson.
Sigurdsson has already left Swansea to join Everton earlier this month and should Llorrente also leave the Liberty stadium, it might be a long and hard season ahead for the Swans.
Wilfred Bony has been rumored to be on his way to join Swansea from Manchester City and manager Paul Clement will hope that his side can complete the signing of the Ivorian as soon as possible, especially if he loses the services of Llorente.
Bony had previously played for the Swans and the club’s supporters will hope that he can recapture the form that made him a star at the Liberty Stadium a few seasons.
In addition, Swansea will also hope that they can keep hold of Llorente for his experience as well as goal scoring ability but with Chelsea keen on the Spaniard, it will surely be difficult reject the advances of the champions.
