Manchester City are reportedly prepared to make a bid offering Raheem Sterling plus cash for Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez, according to ESPN.
Sanchez is currently into the final year of his contract with Arsenal and has refused to sign a new deal with the North London side, meaning that the Chilean superstar might be available on a free transfer at the end of the campaign if he remains with the Gunners this season.
In their attempt to take advantage of the situation, Manchester City have been trying their best to tempt Arsenal to sell the attacker to ensure they can get a decent return on an outgoing player rather than lose him for nothing.
The Citizen already had various bids for the Chilean rejected recently as Arsenal are adamant of not letting go of their prized asset despite the financial risks involved but recent reports suggest that the North London side now might consider negotiations regarding the sale of Sanchez if Sterling will be included as a part of the deal.
Following this twist, it will be interesting to see how City will negotiate the deal for Sanchez and as to whether Arsenal change their strong stance on the 28-year-old star.
Sterling, who was recently criticized for his lack of finishing ability by his manager, was involved in late goals – scoring in both cases, against Everton and Bournemouth in their recent Premier League outings.
However, the England international’s place has come under threat this season following City’s acquisition of Bernardo Silva from Monaco and this might tempt him to move elsewhere, should City look to acquire Sanchez as well.
A part exchange deal with Sterling and cash for Sanchez seems like a suitable deal for every party involved and if completed, the transfer is certain to make headlines everywhere.
