Manchester City are reportedly poised to make a deadline day swoop for Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to reports.
The pacey forward has consistently been linked with a move away from Signal Iduna Park for many years but he has stayed faithful to the black and yellow till now.
Aubameyang has been a top performer for the German giants, scoring 87 goals in 130 appearances, since making a switch from Saint-Etienne in 2013 and the striker remains a keep player for the club this season as well.
His ability to consistently get crucial goals has helped Dortmund’s cause in recent seasons and his exploits have also made sure that BVB have not missed former star striker Robert Lewandowski.
However, it finally looks like the forward is ready to move away this summer and Manchester City have been touted as a potential destination.
French outlet, Le10sport.com, have reported that Manchester City are ready for a “big offensive” in an effort to sign Aubameyang in the closing days of the transfer window.
Manchester City have been looking to sign a new attacker this summer, with the Citizens being heavily linked with a move for Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez.
Arsenal are said to be reluctant to let go of their best player though and it remains to be seen as to how the pursuit from Pep Guarioala’s side develops.
As a result, City are said to have viewed Aubameyang as a contingency plan and it will be interesting to see which of their targets the Premier League side will land before the window closes.
It does look like Borussia Dortmund will look to avoid any more departures from the club after the exit of Ousmane Dembele to Barcelona and will hope that the window will close as soon as possible so none of their key players such as Aubameyang will be further unsettled.
