According to reports carried out by the Daily Mirror, claims have been made that Manchester United will not pay more than £90million for Gareth Bale.
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Gareth Bale virtually every summer over the last few years and despite the widespread speculation, the Welshman has evidently not made a move to Old Trafford as of yet.
Naturally, United have been touted to make a swoop for Bale once again during the current transfer window and this time around, there is a strong belief that the Red Devils might just be able to sign the 28-year-old.
This is due to the fact that Real Madrid are currently pursuing the services of Monaco wonderkid Kylian Mbappe and it is believed that if Los Blancos are able to lure the wonderkid to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer, they will allow Bale to leave in order to raise the funds.
United manager Jose Mourinho seems to be well aware about the opportunity to sign Bale this summer and the Portuguese tactician admitted that he would sign the pacey attacker if he were to be made available.
While Mourinho admitted his defeat in his hopes of signing Bale following his side’s 2-1 loss in the final of the UEFA Super Cup last week, he is said to be privately urging the club hierarchy to launch a bid for the left-footer and now there has been a huge update in the Premier League giants’ pursuit for the former Tottenham Hotspur superstar.
According to reports carried out by the Daily Mirror, it has been claimed that United are willing to make an offer for Bale before the end of the summer transfer window but they will not look to place a bid over £90million.
Madrid purchased Bale for around £86million in the summer of 2013 and the defending European champions are said to be looking for a fee in excess of £100million in order to sell the Welsh international.
If Mbappe arrives to the Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid will perhaps be put into a position where they simply have to sell Bale and the £90million set to be offered by the Premier League side might just be enough to see the winger finally make a move to Old Trafford.
