Chelsea have not yet placed an offer for Alex Telles according to the players’ agent Fernando Otto
As evidenced by their dominating triumph in the Premier League last season, Chelsea seemingly have very few weaknesses within their squad and perhaps as a result, manager Jose Mourinho has decided not to sign too many players this summer.
Chelsea have so far only signed the duo of Asmir Begovic and Radamel Falcao for first team purposes for the upcoming campaign and Mourinho has repeatedly insisted that he is happy with the squad curretnyl at his disposal.
However, following the sale of Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea do need a new left back as cover for Cesar Azpilicueta and it had been widely reported that Mourinho had eyed up a move for Galatasaray star Alex Telles.
Telles is regarded as one of the finest young full backs plying their trade in Europe and he played a huge role in helping Galatasaray secure their 20th league title last season.
As a result, a host of top clubs had registered their interest in signing Telles and Mourinho was also said to be an admirer of the 22-year old.
Having recently sold Luis, Mourinho is now said to be ramping up his pursuit to sign Telles and if reports are to be believed, the Portuguese manager had already launched a £8million bid to sign the Brazilian youngster.
To refute such claims though, Telles’ agent, Fernando Otto, has gone on to reveal that although there is a lot of interest in his client, he has not yet been subject to any bid from Chelsea.
Speaking to Radyospor, Otto said, “I have not received any offer. He is happy in Istanbul, he loves the city and so do his family but in football you never know what can happen, maybe some clubs have made contact but not in an official capacity.”
Telles joined Galatasaray during the January transfer window from Gremio two seasons ago and the full back has managed to impress many with his blistering performances.
As a result, Galatasaray will most certainly not be looking to part with Telles on the cheap and it is widely expected that Chelsea will have to splash the cash in order to sign the 22-year old.
