Manchester City is still following its old policy of letting go of good players and re-buying them once they start playing well for a different team.
At times, the Club had to face catastrophic consequences in this regard. Not only have they faced UEFA’s financial investigation, but have also made huge losses on player deals. The same story seems to be unfolding with Raheem Sterling-City’s new target!
A few days back, The Sun, suggested that the Club is setting aside around €50 million for the purchase before concluding that City will not be able to buy them since 50 million is just not enough. The daily also suggested that City usually chase players who cannot be bought.
Rumours are that Liverpool won’t sell Sterling for anything less than €100 million. If that is the case, City will still chase the latter since they are planning to make €150 million by flogging Edin Dzeko, Samir Nasri, Vincemt Kompany, Yaya Toure and so on.
As per Mirror, Liverpool has already made up its mind about Sterling’s replacement should City manage to turn up with €100 million for the player. Theo Walcot’s name also increasingly comes in the forefront in case of any player’s contract expiry in 2016.
Manchester United is all ready to raid Southampton. Having bought Luke Shaw, the Club is now running after Nathaniel Clyne. The Club has pinned their hopes on Rafael. They may now test the depth of the water with a €20 million offer!
If speculations are to be believed, United has already set aside €150 million to aggressively chase Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi.
Meanwhile, Shakhtar Donetsk has put a hefty €25 million price on Douglas Costa. Chelsea cannot be put off with the same. So much so, that they have decided to put some extra amount on his name.
On the other hand Aleksander Mitrovic, the 20-year hot shot, is gaining some attention and is expected to be Wilfried Bony’s long term replacement. The Club has been trying to sign the player since January and is expected to try this summer as well.
Samil Khedira is not following the same route though. The charismatic German midfielder is reluctant to leave Real Madrid for the Premier League. He is more interested to be in Bundesliga than in any other league, as revealed by Clemens Tonnies.
Tottenham, on the other hand, is desperate to solve their defensive issues. The club has opted for a strategy to only buy players who are less than 26 years. A bunch of Southampton players is on their list including Kevin Wimmer and Danny Ings. This will particularly please the Club fans since the Club has been bleeding on the defence front.
Newcastle is targeting an array of players this summer. John Carver has gone on record to reveal that the Club will invest this summer. Meanwhile Tracey, Phil and Gary Neville’s sister has been announced as the head coach of England’s netball team. She will serve as the interim coach for the team.
