As reported by the London Evening Standard, West Ham United will be rebuffing any approach from Liverpool for attacking midfielder Manuel Lanzini.
The entire football world has been left in shock as it has widely been reported that Neymar is considering leaving Barcelona and the Brazilian superstar is currently touted to join French giants Paris Saint-Germain, with the prospective transfer fee believed to be in the region of around £195million.
It remains to be seen if indeed Neymar does end up leaving the Nou Camp for the Parc des Prince but the move coming into fruition would surely prove to be a huge blow for Barcelona and they will have a difficult time in finding a replacement for such an accomplished player.
Nonetheless, Barcelona are already said to be planning for life after Neymar and there have been widespread reports that the La Liga powerhouses are currently considering a move for Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho for around £80million.
Coutinho is believed to be open to joining Barcelona if an offer is forthcoming and in such an event, Liverpool will find themselves in a situation similar to the one the Catalans are currently enduring due to the saga surrounding Neymar.
Much like Neymar is a key player for Barcelona, even Liverpool depend heavily on Coutinho and replacing the Brazilian playmaker will surely prove to be a herculean task for the Reds.
Recently though, claims have been made that Liverpool have eyed up West Ham United attacker Manuel Lanzini as a potential replacement for Coutinho at Anfield.
Lanzini has managed to set the Premier League alight with his fine performances for West Ham since arriving to London from Al Jazira Club in 2015 and although the Hammers struggled last term, the Argentine international was one of the few shining lights for the club.
The 24-year-old managed to score 8 goals in 35 appearances and such exploits are said to have attracted the interest from a host of clubs, including Liverpool who could be making their move in the coming days (Bleacher Report).
As a huge blow to Liverpool’s hopes of signing Lanzini though, the London Evening Standard have reported that West Ham are not willing to sell their prized asset at any price due to the fact that manager Slaven Bilic views the attacker as an integral part of the revamped Hammers side which now boasts talented players such as Javier Hernandez, Joe Hart, Pablo Zabaleta and Marko Arnautovic.
